I was looking for a cute cafe to do some work, and stumbled upon this place! This cafe is connected to a hotel, so you have a variety of seating, from the cafe seats by the window to the lounge type seating in the lobby.
The only thing to keep in mind is that their wi-fi isn’t free to the public, so if you’re looking to work with a laptop, probably isn’t the place for you.
I got a latte and it was good! It was rich and creamy, and not too sweet. I’ll probably come by with another friend in the future!
I paid more than $10 for a hot tea and water, and then got scolded for sitting down. Apparently most of the tables and chairs are reserved for hotel guests which isn’t clear when you order. I wasn’t even trying to work or use a computer, just sit and drink my tea. The music and decor is nice but it doesn’t count for much when you feel like you are not welcome. The employees also seem exasperated.
Affiliated to the hotel nearby, non-hotel guests are able to enjoy the wooden interior and luxe ambience. Seats near the bar and restaurant are for guests only, but there are plenty of options for non-guests.
The staff is super fun and nice! La-Toya had the coolest glasses she designed herself and made friendly chatter with me about my illustration. Another staff asked me himself if I’d like a refill for my water.
I spent a solid 6 hours there and did not feel as though I was taking up their space at all. So, if you need a cafe to remind you that you’re in NYC and allow you a comfortable durable stay, Paper Coffee I’d suggest.
Was in search of an aesthetic study lounge to read and I am more than pleased to have found this place. There are plenty of seating, seating options I mean to be exact- whether that is a barstool, couch, or armchair may fancy you. I surmise this place gets crowded since it is nestled right in Made Hotel. Do bear in mind the cafe closes at 6PM and most of the cafe food are sold out towards the evening. Overall the crowd and ambience is pleasant.
Just beware the price of hot tea on the menu says $4 but I was charged $5. Please keep your menu pricing and pos pricing consistent
chill and quiet atmosphere; although some tables were reserved for hotel guests only
Almost hidden location due to the construction work nearby. Once entered into a Lobby of a hotel where the right corner space is for the coffee shop. The other side for hotel guest. Unfortunately, the experience is quite limited.
Pros: The music and decor.
Cons: NO milk alternatives for the drinks, quite shocking given the location. I ordered a pastry item to be warmed and received it cold. The workers are more consumed with chatting loudly to one another rather then serving the customer. Very unwelcoming.
Overall it is very nice on the eyes but not much otherwise. Don't let their hotel lobby location fool you, hospitality isn't their priority.
I found this place very cramped and the menu of drinks pretty paltry. Not to say there was anything wrong with my chai latte, or even the atmosphere of the place, I just think the photos oversold it a bit. Even with the generous allocated seating specifically for hotel guests, if you're staying in this hotel and this is doubling as both a cafe and the lobby, it's vaguely claustrophobic. On temperate weather days it looks like they have outdoor seating, but in the usual new york autumn gloominess almost every seat was taken and luggage towered between cramped walkways.
